• College Art Association (CAA) - CAA includes among its members those who by vocation or avocation are concerned about and/or committed to the practice of art, teaching, and research of and about the visual arts and humanities. Over 13,000 artists, art historians, scholars, curators, collectors, educators, art publishers, and other visual arts professionals are individual members. Another 2,000 university art and art history departments, museums, libraries, and professional and commercial organizations hold institutional memberships.

• Midwest Art History Society Online - Founded in 1973, the Midwest Art History Society is an organization that brings together academic, museum-based, and independent art historians in the common goal of scholarly inquiry and the exchange of ideas.

• Ohio Arts Council - The Ohio Arts Council was created in 1965 to "foster and encourage the development of the arts and assist the preservation of Ohio's cultural heritage."

• Art History Resources on the Web - Excellent, comprehensive index of art history sites organized by period, region, and topics selected by an art history professor. Also includes links to museums around the world. Created in 1995 and maintained by Dr. Christopher Witcombe at Sweet Briar College, VA. Updated regularly.

• Art Links from Boston College - Another comprehensive index of art sites organized by topic. Compiled by Jeffrey Howe, a professor of art and architecture at Boston College.

• Artcyclopedia - A searchable commercial site with useful links and information about artists. Includes many sample images of artwork.

• ArtSource - ArtSource is a gathering point for networked resources on Art and Architecture. The content is diverse and includes pointers to resources around the net as well as original materials submitted by librarians, artists, and art historians, etc. This site is intended to be selective, rather than comprehensive.

• Mother of all Art History Links Page - Extensive collection of research links as well as online collections and galleries. Sponsored by the School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan.

• Selected Websites on Art Historical Subjects - Index of online art history websites organized by subject and stylistic periods. Compiled by librarians and faculty members at Rutgers University.

• Voice of the Shuttle -Dynamic arts and humanities portal with extensive links to resources in Archaeology, Architecture, Art, Art history, Classics, Media studies, Photography, and Theory.

• ADAM: Art, Design, Architecture and Media Gateway - ADAM is a searchable online catalog describing Internet resources such as web sites or electronic mailing lists to help you find useful, quality-assured information on the Internet in the following subject areas: Fine Art, Design, Architecture, Applied Arts, Media, Theory, Museum Studies and Conservation, and Professional Practice.

• Artnet - Searchable, commercial online gallery network and price database.

• AskART.com - AskART is an online database containing over 42,000 American artists from the early 16th-Century through the present.

• Art Images for College Teaching - Free-access, free-use images of art and architectural works hosted by the University of Minnesota.

• David Rumsey Visual Collections - Free and subscription images of art, history, and culture. Excellent section on maps.

• Digital Library for the Decorative Arts and Material Culture - Documents, images, and resources about decorative arts from the University of Wisconsin.

• New York Public Library Digital Gallery - Over 415,000 digitized images from the NYPL collection, including illuminated manuscripts, historical maps, vintage posters, rare prints, photographs, illustrated books, and printed ephemera.
