Abstract:
Ki-pat lives in Kapiti Plain where he watches over his herd of cattle. Ki-pat is worried because Kapiti Plain is having a drought, and his cattle and grass need water. A large cloud produces rain when Ki-pat shoots an arrow into it.

3. Anaya, Rudolfo (2004). The santero's miracle: A bilingual story. Albuquerque: University of New Mexico.

Abstract:
Don Jacobo and his grandson carve a figurine of a saint from wood for the Christmas season. A large snow storm comes and closes the roads. This creates problems for Don Jacobo's family who wants to visit their family. It is also a problem for his sick neighbor who needs to to go the the hospital.

Two young boys longed to be at sea, so their parents took them on a trip. Their parents were called off on an emergency but the boys stayed. They encounter a series of problems, but the crew and the boys survive.

24. Bania, Michael (2004). Kumak's fish: A tall tale from the far north. Portland, OR: Alaska Northwest Books.

Abstract:
One morning Kumak and his family pack their fishing gear for an antarctic ice fishing adventure. With patience, the family fishes until Kumak finally catches a strong fish. The whole Alaskan community comes running to help Kumak and his family pull the fish out of the water. The community celebrates their new food supply when they see each fish holding on to the fist infront of it.

In 1923, a young boy works hard to learn morse code in order to get his amateur radio operator license and his very own call letters. Everyday he excitedly puts on his headphones and warms up his station, talking to people all over the world. During a far away hurricane, he uses his radio to send out messages to rescue stranded people.
