One morning Kumak and his family pack their fishing gear for an antarctic ice fishing adventure. With patience, the family fishes until Kumak finally catches a strong fish. The whole Alaskan community comes running to help Kumak and his family pull the fish out of the water. The community celebrates their new food supply when they see each fish holding on to the fist infront of it.

The cat begins a journey across the country to find his way back to the stone house. When he arrives, he finds the door open, walks in, and finds a spot to fall asleep. He is awoken by two children who reminds him of the old woman with whom he finds home again.

Mama and her five little monkeys want to sell their rusty old car, but they must first clean and paint it. When no one comes to buy it they attempt to move the car, but it ends up in a lake. The crocodiles help to get the car out of the lake then later buy it. With the money from the sale, the monkeys buy a new red convertible.

Jon is spending the last day at his grandmother's cottage. Before she takes a nap, she tells Jon to look at some old photographs from 1915 To Jon, the photos are dull, gray, and gloomy. Jon hears some voices and falls into a photograph where he meets Paul. Where Paul sees colors, Jon sees gray. The two boys share some adventures as different photos come to life. Finally, Jon sees the "color" in the photographs, and finds out that Paul was his great-grandfather.
