Abstract:
Marie dreams of being a famous dancer until one day her chance of being in the Christmas show diminishes when her father becomes ill. Marie begins to model for a painter to earn money for her family's lost income. One day, Maria's sculpture shows up in the art museum and becomes the famed sculpture of Edgar Degas.

Abstract:
A husband treats his goat better than his own wife. However, the wife gets angry and decides to act like a goat. This begins to worry the husband who starts having nightmares. As a result, he realizes who is more important and begins to fix his mistakes.

Abstract:
Arthur is captivated by a new computer game and plays it while his mom is gone, even though she asked him not to. While he is playing with his friend, they both reach for the mouse and the screen suddenly goes blank. Find out if he can fix the computer before his mom gets home, or if he gets the nerve to confront his wrong doing!

4. Bunting, Eve (1994). A day's work. New York: Clarion Books.

Abstract:
Fransico takes his grandfather out to look for work. His grandfather does not speak English, so Fransico must translate. Fransico accepts a gardening job for his grandfather by telling the man he is a great gardener. When the man comes at the end of the day, he finds the job done incorrectly. Fransico's lie teaches him an invaluable lesson.

Abstract:
Crickwing is different from all the other cockroaches. He likes to create sculptures and has a twisted wing. Crickwing is tired of being bullied by the bigger animals in the forest and mistakenly takes his anger out on the leaf-cutter ants, learning a valuable lesson in return.

Catching sight of Miss Nella in her window is supposed to be very bad, Dora's friends tell her. When Dora tries to steal a mango from Miss Nella by throwing a stone, Dora is frightened by the sight of Miss Nella in her window. Dora soon discovers that Miss Nella isn't evil. She is just lonely and sick and has no one there to make it better for her.

Abstract:
Lilly wants to be a teacher like Mr. Slinger. She always says wonderful things about him until one day he takes her purple plastic purse away. For revenge, Lilly draws a nasty picture of Mr. Slinger which makes her feel worse than before. This teaches Lilly that revenge is the wrong way to resolve conflict.

Abstract:
An old wolf loves his house, especially his screened in porch. A bird suggests he sells his house to see if there is anything better. He regrets this and wants his house back. He becomes frustrated when he cannot get his house back and scares his neighbors. The conflict resolves when the wolf finds a place he likes better than his old home and he makes some new friends.

Shnook the peddler arrives in the town of Korovenko with his assortment of beautiful, hand-carved dreidels. Leibush notices on that is left behind and makes excuses for keeping it. He soon realizes that the peddlers ways may be a cover for wisdom and forgiveness. As Hanukkah approaches, Shnook leaves Leibush a gift that will last a lifetime.

Alexander the Gander loves heliotrope pansies, so he sneaks away from the pond to get a taste at Mrs. Fillow's garden. He eats some nice young vegetables too. When he gets caught, he takes off running for home. Sylvie, his owner, makes him apologize to Mrs. Fillow, and she forgives him.
