A town finds a baby girl that they decide to adopt. They name the baby Valentine. They think Valentine is a normal little girl, but she grows and grows into a giant. When she's older, no one wants to marry her until one day another giant wanders through town.

Abstract:
At school, Emily learns about penguins and how they care for their young. When Emily tells her dog, Pinkerton, about penguins, he begins to dream of having a penguin pup of his own. He even begins to think that his football is a penguin egg and waits for it to hatch. Later, Pinkerton steals a football from a football game. Emily and her family give Pinkerton a baby penguin of his own that he can care for.

23. Millman, Isaac (2005). Hidden child. New York: Frances Foster Books.

Abstract:
Over fifty years have passed, and Isaac finally tells his story. He is one of the few survivors of the Holocaust. Isaac experiences many tragedies during the war including losing both parents, friends, and being left to strangers, but finally, was adopted into a home. Although he changes his name, he is adopted in a home where people grow to love him.
