Summary: An easy to use, sequential approach developed by a teacher for teachers that introduces drumming and traditional West African music to students who haven't yet been exposed to this exciting, vibrant art form. No prior experience is necessary. Integrating African music with the Orff approach, this book presents a developmental sequence of drum instruction for children as young as 5 but is applicable to any age. It weaves drum instruction into the tapestry of current music education programs in a way that quickly allows all students to play this beautifully complex music and cultivates students' skills to the point where they can all participate in playing polyrhythmic ensemble music
