The Miami University Libraries seek a Government Documents Librarian/Assistant Librarian to manage the federal, Ohio and European Union depository collections, a UN collection and small law collection; ensure compliance with the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) guidelines; provide leadership towards an internet-based collection; encourage use of collection; provide research help in-house and via email, chat and IM (evenings and weekends required); teach in libraries instruction and information literacy program; provide updates on document development; apply computer skills to library services; participate and contribute to Libraries team organization.
Require: Graduate library degree from an ALA accredited institution; strong commitment to high-quality public service; teaching skills leading to proficient instruction in information fluency; analytical skills to effectively retrieve information; flexibility to work in an environment of continual change; ability to work independently and in teams as well as all levels of staff and diverse library customers; strong computer knowledge including skill in the use and application or multimedia software; strong written and oral communication skills; initiative and ability to conceive and carry out projects; ability to meet the Libraries requirements for promotion and continuing contract (http://www.lib.muohio.edu/about/larps.pdf).
Desire: Experience with government documents, public services, and supervising and training staff in an academic library; second masters degree, teaching experience.
