Items for Checkout
In addition to study rooms, laptops, and iPads, items available for loan to students, staff, and faculty at King Library include: PC/Laptop power cords, network cables, projectors, portable PA systems, tripods, tripod dollies, and projection screens.. They are available only as a first-come, first-served basis only.
Computers, Video and Audio Equipment
Digital Cameras, Video Cameras, and Audio Recorders
- Location: King Library.
- Available for: 24 hours, with two photo IDs required for check out.
- Overdue policy: $5 per hour to a maximum of $100.
- Replacement policy: $495 per digital camera, and actual cost for accessories.
Laptops/iPads
NOTE: For in-library use only
- Location: King Library and Brill Science Library circulation desks.
- Available for: 3 hours (laptops) and 24 hours (iPads), Equipment Loan Agreement must be completed once annually.
- Overdue policy: $5 per hour to a maximum of $100.
- Replacement policy: $700 per laptop, $800 per iPad.
Microphones, Headphones, and Laptop Power Cords
- Location: King Library Circulation Desk
- Available for: 3 hours.
Items for Purchase
Digital Storage Devices (CD/DVD/Flash Drives)
- Location: King Library Circulation Desk.
- Cost: $1 (CD); $1 (DVDs); $15 (Flash Drives).
Fax Service
- Location: King Library 112 (Center for Information Mangement).
- Cost: $1 for transmissions to local telephone numbers, $2 for long distance numbers.
- Location: King Library Circulation Desk.
- Cost: $0.25 per pair or $1.00 for 5 pairs.
Study Rooms
King Group Study Rooms
- Location: 1st and 2nd Floors
- Available for: Rooms may be checked out in 2-hour blocks, and may be renewed if no other clients are waiting to use the rooms. Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance in person only at the King Library Circulation Desk.
- Overdue policy: $2.50 first hour, $.75 per each additional hour.
King Graduate Student Reading Room
- Location: 3rd floor of King Library, next to the quiet study area across from the Northeast stairwell.
- Available for: Currently enrolled Miami Graduate students, who may check out a key from the Circulation desk on the 1st floor of King Library.
King Faculty Reading Rooms
- Location: Southwest corners of the 1st and 2nd floors of King Library
- Available for: Faculty, who may check out a key at the King Library Circulation Desk
Wertz Art & Architecture Library Meeting Rooms
- Location: South end of the main floor of the Art & Architecture Library.
- Availability: may be checked out in 2-hour blocks, and may be renewed
if no other clients are waiting to use the rooms. Reservations may be made up
to two weeks in advance in person only at the Wertz Art/Architecture Library
Circulation Desk.
Overdue policy: $2.50 first hour, $.75 per each additional hour.
